![]() ![]() And that’s kinda tough at first but then you get it. ![]() I feel like there’s a big hurdle to go from beginner to intermediate that boils down to “just pick it up every day, and practice chord progressions and scales”. There are so many laziness plateaus in guitar I keep running into.Īnd I’m super into melodic death metal, but again I’m not trying to retune every time. For example I’ve really wanted to play Warren Zevon’s “My Shit’s Fucked Up” lately, because I can tell just by listening it’s gotta be super easy to play relative to how badass it sounds (I can just tell the best parts are lots of 2nd and 3rd fret pull offs to open strings), but it’s DADGAD and I know I’m too lazy to retune all the time. I sadly don’t even bother with nonstandard tuning most of the time. It started to make my practicing tolerable to her, but now if you toss me a guitar I have 10 songs from start to finish (not just the fun to play parts) and all the lyrics fuckin good to go. So I did, and now I have my own little set list of my favorite songs to play and sing. But once I moved in with my gf it started driving her crazy, she’s like you play the same damn song 100x a day for 3 weeks, then pick a new song and play that 100x a day for 3 weeks, I can’t listen to it anymore! And I said well I have to perfect it! And she said fine but you need to play a rotation of songs so I don’t go insane hearing you, don’t just drop the past few songs when you lose interest, start a rotation for gods sake. Like reading a book or beating a video game, i perfect it and then am like sweet, done, NEXT. I’m always learning songs then moving on to the next one that interests me, then moving on again. Wiggle bar rhythmically while lowering for "beee-woo-woo-woo-woop" soundĮlephant & Horse (probably the most difficult one for me): EVHįly: I dunno, probably some dude from high schoolīuild a set list bro, songs that you can play and sing well. Lightly mute strings at about the 7th fret (lay 3 fret-hand fingers across strings, move around if I'm wrong, writing this from memory) alternate strum for "wakka-wakka-wakka" soundī string natural harmonic 7th (or 9th?) fret.Raise bar slowly, drop quickly then continue raising to simulate shifting a couple of times, hold note, wiggle down slowly to simulate Doppler effect.Strike open low E (you can reverse the order of the 1st two and it'll still work). It helps to look around as though you're watching a fly while doing it. Turn pick so you're making a sawing or cutting motion on B string near bridge, slide back & forth between bridge & pickup while sawing.B string, 3rd fret pinch harmonic, bend note up & wiggle bar to make neighing sound.Pull trem up while turning volume up then trem down a little at the end (I use left hand for bar, right hand for volume knob, right-handed player).Strike 7th fret natural harmonic across 4 or 5 strings.** Single print order can either print or save as PDF.Gotta have lots of gain and a locking tremolo for most.
