Cecilia shoots and kills the invisible man attacking her friends when she unmasks him, it is Tom. For most of the movie, audiences are led to believe that Adrian is behind everything, but in the third act the movie reveals that his brother not only knows he’s alive but is helping him. The Invisible Man makes it clear that Adrian is both physically and emotionally abusive.
